I have taken it upon myself to help the people in need at the border to find their families after having been displaced. I am proud of the work that I have been doing and grateful for the support that I have received from Gesthab and the executive suites in Montreal that they have provided for me in Montreal Quebec Canada.
I consider myself a family person and nothing is more important to me than for families to be together in a quality and comfortable environment. Having grown up in a dysfunctional and harmful environment, it is all I have ever wanted to help those in need to avoid similar circumstances.
What I have seen taking place at the border with families who are unable to stay together and in many instances torn apart, has broken my heart and prompted me to do something about it. After supporting fellow humanitarian who made efforts at the border from a far, I decided I needed to be more hands-on in the process.
The work began very clerically and conducting administrative work to source and find the families who have been broken, and this has taken on a whole life of its own at this point. I never anticipated to be working in this arena, but it has been quite fulfilling and I am happy to say I have made a lot of progress.
Because the work is so demanding, I rarely have the opportunity to think beyond work itself. That is why I am so thankful for Gesthab because they have been able to provide me with the kind of accommodations via my executive suites in Montreal that has kept me sane during this process.
Montreal Quebec Canada may not be the kind of destination that everyone dreams of, but it has been my own special haven. I am so proud of the work that we are doing and happy when I am able to see just how the work has been bringing families back together and the joy on their faces.
I rest well knowing that nobody will need to go through what I did as a child. Instead, I am able to bring people back together who are in need.
